Todowing

Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for Todoist. Todoist flattens sub-tasks in its Today, Upcoming, Filter and Label views, so the hierarchy disappears where you plan your day. Todowing shows the full sub-task tree inline in those views, four levels deep.

From the list you can complete, add, rename and reorder sub-tasks, hide finished sub-tasks while keeping a finished parent that still has open work, and file one task under a parent in another project without moving it. It also includes a focus timer that runs across open tabs, time estimates, a notes pad above Today, seven color palettes, a text size slider, a font picker with fifty Google Fonts, and read-only Apple Calendar events on Today.

It is built for Todoist users who work from date and filter views. It works with any Todoist plan in the Todoist web app on Chrome. It does not run inside the Todoist desktop app, but you can install Todoist as a Chrome app window.

Pricing: the free tier covers nested sub-tasks with full row detail, up to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task, the seven palettes and the text size slider, with no account needed. A one-time $19.99 unlock adds unlimited rows, sub-task editing, focus sessions, the font picker and all future updates. There is no subscription, and refunds are available for 14 days.

Privacy: your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes only to the official Todoist API. Your tasks never touch our servers. The extension has no analytics or tracking.
