JON BOATS, Ark.

— A man accused in a shooting of his father and two other children has been indicted on a charge of capital murder in the deaths of his two younger siblings.

The shooting happened about 6 p.m.

Tuesday outside a charter boat service in the tiny town of Jansing in north Arkansas.

The boy and the girl were sitting on the backseat of the charter boat when the man opened fire, according to a news release from the Arkansas State Police.

Three children were injured, the release said.

The boy’s mother, who was sitting in the front seat of the boat, was shot in the head and chest and is listed in critical condition.

Authorities said the man is accused of opening fire with a shotgun and shooting the family inside the boat before taking the children and his wife into the backyard.
